Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring an Electrical Engineer (Project Engineer) or a Principal Electrical Engineer (Project Engineer) to support our Avionics Integration organization.

The position is located at Rancho Bernando, CA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and direct one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations.

  • Prepare project execution plan and identify appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team.

  • Ensure project(s) are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet technical requirements of the assignment.

This position can be filled at either the Electrical Engineer (Project Engineer) or a Principal Electrical Engineer (Project Engineer) level, depending upon the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for Electrical Engineer (Project Engineer)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM field with 0 years of related engineering experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Program Management processes and procedures.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and standards

  • Experience briefing leadership.

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM field with 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 0 years of related experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Program Management processes and procedures.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and standards

  • Experience briefing leadership.

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Prior experience leading IT-focused project and project implementation

Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800

Salary Range 2: $107,300 - $160,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
