Scripps Health EAP Psychologist - Full Time in San Diego, California

This is an Exempt position with a Manager Work Schedule. Located in La Jolla at Scripps Green Hospital and other sites mostly in north of La Jolla. The position requires on-site coverage and some remote work.

What you will do:

  • Provide assessment, referral, and short-term individual counseling services.
  • Organizational Development interventions - Partner closely with system and site senior leadership teams to anticipate future organizational change and transformation needs, promote organizational readiness to address change issues, and assist in managing staff and management transitions.
  • Collaboration with leaders around multiple system-wide efforts including Engagement, Leadership Development, Wellness Initiatives, Disaster Preparation, and Response.
  • Provide counsel to a broad range of leaders in regard to system-wide employee wellness and employee relations (i.e. performance-related issues).
  • Provide system-wide counsel to staff, leadership, and physicians around Disaster Planning and Response (i.e. provision of Critical Incident Stress Management services in patient care and administrative areas of the Scripps System).
  • Complete necessary documentation and tracking of services; trending and reporting of clinical data and ongoing quality improvement. Communication to system-wide leadership of EAP clinical and trending data.
  • Proficient in delivering all EAP related services. #LI-MR1

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Psychologist or Licensed Master’s level prepared mental health provider, or license-eligible within a year of hire.
  • Education and training specific to clinical and organizational psychology.

Required Certification/Registration:

  • A current and unrestricted license to practice (within respective discipline/area) in California, or work toward obtaining licensure within 12 months of hire.
  • Certification of Employee Assistance Professionals (CEAP) or must begin work toward completion of CEAP within two years of hire.

*Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: *

  • EAP experience in a healthcare environment. Emphasis on management, organizational development skills, presentations, and critical incident stress management.
  • Individual therapy training, experience and skills. Skilled in the diagnostic interview process, short-term group and individual interventions, and the ability to make referrals for appropriate treatment. Skills in management and organizational dynamics. Disaster mental health/CISM training.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent organizational, supervisory, and leadership skills.
