A reputable organization in San Diego, CA is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic-minded Controller to join their team. The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will have a significant role in directing and planning the preparation of reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Overseeing financials and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Implementing and refining financial policies and procedures.

• Ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting.

• Supervising and evaluating the performance of accounting staff.

• Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes.

  Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degrees like MBA, CMA, or CPA are highly preferred.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.

• Experience with financial reporting requirements.

• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.

• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
