Robert Half Contract Specialist in San Diego, California

Description We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our healthcare team in San Diego, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of grants within the organization. This includes ensuring funds received from grants are used in accordance with grant agreements and regulatory requirements. Your work will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial administration of grants, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

• Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions, as well as with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for grantors, including expenditure reports, budget-to-actual reports, and other required documentation.

• Monitor and track grant expenses to ensure they are allowable, allocable, and reasonable.

• Develop and manage budgets for grant-funded projects.

• Work closely with program managers to align financial resources with program objectives and ensure proper allocation of funds.

• Assist in internal and external audits related to grant-funded projects.

• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Maintain comprehensive and organized financial records related to grants.

• Collaborate with program managers, finance teams, and grantors to address any financial issues or discrepancies.

• Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close

• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desirable

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated knowledge of financial regulations and legislation

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
