Rady Children's Hospital San Diego Community Health Programs Coordinator - Center for Healthier Communities in San Diego, California

This is a casual, grant funded position which is subject to renwal on 06/30/2026.

JOB SUMMARY:

FACES for the Future is a 3-year academic and health career preparation program implemented in partnership with the San Diego Unified School District at Hoover, Crawford and Kearny High Schools. FACES is implemented by the Center for Healthier Communities at Rady Children’s Hospital- San Diego.The Community Health Programs Coordinator, within the Center’s Youth Development priority area, may be based primarily at the high school site. This position will support Hoover High School’s program and will work with other FACES staff to implement the four main program components: Health Careers Experience, Wellness Support, Academic Enhancement and Professional/ Leadership Development. This position is responsible for primary interface and collaboration with school staff, students and community partners, as well as connecting with coordinators from the other sites. This position utilizes both autonomy and decision-making at the school site, as well as collaboration with the entire FACES team and its umbrella Coalition organization at the Public Health Institute. We are seeking candidates with experience in education or youth development, exceptional verbal and written communications skills, and who have the ability to motivate youth and work with a diverse population of students. Familiarity with health career pathway programs is ideal. This position is 100% in-person.

The Community Health Programs Coordinator, with oversight from the Program Manager, is responsible for successfully coordinating and implementing the assigned program and/or project(s) including planning and development. In conjunction with supervisor, will coordinate all aspects of program evaluation, including creating and implementing the evaluation strategy and tools; will develop and monitor program budgets and assist with fund development including writing grant applications and/or preparing reports as requested. Coordinator will create and/or oversee the programs' marketing and communication strategy across website, social media, community publications etc. as assigned or needed. Coordinator will work with supervisor to maintain, identify, and/or develop strategic partnerships to support and grow the program and will participate in ongoing department and/or organizational initiatives as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree

2 years of experience

CA Driver's License

Proof of Auto Insurance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree

5 years of experience

Bilingual English and Spanish

The expected hiring range for this position is $25.47 to $35.03
