JOB OVERVIEW
Ensures the correct amount of quality inventory is available to support the business requirements through performing transactions, process and procedure verification, and system review. Responsible for developing and maintaining partner relationships with vendors. Executes the supply plan and creates & manages PO’s (Purchase Orders). Supports management of the AVL (Approved Vendor List) and the performance of all vendors with a quantitative report card. Supports the creation & management of critical vendor strategies and contracts. Reviews & executes vendor cost reduction programs & actions. Supports actions from both the MRB (Material Review Board) and ECO-CCB (Engineering Change Order – Change Control Board).
This position reports to the Purchasing Supervisor and is based Onsite out of our San Diego office.
As the Buyer, you will have an opportunity to:
Executes the supply plan by obtaining quotes for purchased items & services.
Creates and manages PO’s (Purchase Orders) for expected high quality and on-time delivery.
Cultivates and maintains strong partner relationships with vendors.
Reviews quantitative KPI (Key Performance Indicator) report cards with vendors to maintain AVL (Approved Vendor List) status.
Coordinates any MRB (Material Review Board) defective items issues with vendors with RMA’s (Return Material Authorization) or payment credits and corrective actions as required.
Coordinates actions on ECO’s (Engineering Change Orders) that affect vendor items including scheduling of design change cut-in scheduling, cost impact and quality impacts.
Supports NPI (New Product Introduction) projects and coordinates with R&D for any prototype and production buying actions.
Reviews departmental purchase requisition requests for accuracy and appropriate approvals and submits POs in support of the request.
Assists Purchasing Supervisor and Sourcing Manager on all strategic sourcing & cost reduction projects.
Observes global supply chain trends and reacts accordingly in coordination with suppliers on existing PO’s.
Other duties and tasks upon request from the Purchasing Supervisor.
You have the qualifications below that are necessary for someone to fill this position:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associates degree required.
Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience.
Has general Purchasing, logistics and ERP system knowledge & skills including MS Office experience.
High interpersonal & oral and written communication skills including negotiation with vendors.
Highly motivated, accurate and dependable to improve purchasing for the company. Able to deal with pressure and deadlines. Able to work autonomously but may receive moderate level of guidance.
Uses prescribed guidelines & processes to solve and act upon material requirement needs.
Physical requirement: Able to perform office and computer actions daily. Committed to all safety policies.

Pay Range:
$64,500.00 - $96,700.00
The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
