Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will make complex technical decisions and judgements for repairs on complex boiler systems. You will ensure all safety procedures and environmental control safeguards are followed. You will maintain remote heating boilers and perform major overhauls of the entire system including repair, replacement, and installation of boilers and equipment. You will perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant systems and equipment. You will monitor and test the operation of power boiler systems to identify malfunctions and potential problems with equipment. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including:1) Installing, maintaining and repairing a variety of steam and hot water equipment systems involving power boilers with complicated components, critical requirements and rigid tolerance; 2) Monitoring and adjusting thermostats, switches, regulators, and other safety devices and alarm systems in compliance with established safety standards; 3) Troubleshooting and repairing pollution control equipment; and 4) Using electronic controls, devices and automatic boiler management systems to identify equipment malfunctions. WORKING CONDITIONS The work is usually performed indoors on concrete surfaces where there is exposure to; dust, dirt, hazardous chemicals, High-temperature surfaces, high ambient temperatures, direct steam, excessive noise, rotating machinery, asbestos insulation, confined spaces, high voltage, hazardous fumes, high pressure air, steam, or fluids. May occasionally service equipment outdoors under adverse weather conditions. May be exposed to the potential for burns, electrical shocks, cuts, strains, bruises, and chemical irritations. To reduce dangers from these and other similar conditions follows prescribed safety practices and Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as, safety Eye and Ear protection, reflective vests, aprons, face shield, coveralls, hard-toe shoes, respirators, hardhats, and fire retardant gloves.
