Position Overview
Approximately 6-month, 100% onsite contract position in Burlingame (near SFO). As an Accounts Receivable Associate, you will support finance and administration teams by managing invoicing, payments, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions across the agency.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Management: Process billing related to contracts, grants, and client services to ensure all invoicing is completed on schedule.
Cash Receipts & Deposits: Record cash receipts and perform bank deposits; reconcile payments received with billing invoices.
Payment Reconciliation: Work closely with Program Directors to ensure payments are reconciled with data from external platforms such as BrainTree and PayPal.
Petty Cash & Credit Card Management: Handle petty cash disbursements, reconciliations, and assist with processing credit card transactions.
Client Fee Collection & Reporting: Collect client fees, track payments, assist in monthly reporting, and follow up with unpaid balances as needed by sending statements.
Collaboration & Training: Collaborate with internal teams to compile necessary data for billing and provide training to interns regarding counseling program fee procedures.
Audit Support: Assist in the preparation and execution of annual audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
Special Projects: Participate in various finance-related projects as assigned, supporting the agency’s overall financial health.
Medi-Cal Billing: Experience with Medi-Cal billing is a plus, especially for those handling government-funded services.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Attention to Detail: Must possess strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and timely work.
Multitasking & Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision, adjusting priorities as needed to meet deadlines.
Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of staff across various departments.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively within the finance team and with cross-departmental staff to achieve organizational goals.
Problem-Solving: Able to make sound decisions and resolve issues with minimal guidance, ensuring efficient and effective outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in accounts receivable in non-profit.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel (intermediate level); ability to use 10-key by touch.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with an emphasis on professionalism and clarity.
Work Ethic: Dependable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines consistently.
