Ethos Veterinary Health Triage Coordinator in San Antonio, Texas

Welcome to Mission Vet Specialty and Emergency! We are a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary veterinary specialty and emergency hospital located in San Antonio, Texas. We are currently seeking a skilled full-time Triage Coordinator to help control the chaos of the Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Veterinary Medicine, excellent communication skills and the ability to handle stressful situations with empathy and professionalism. Our multidisciplinary hospital was founded in 2012 as a sister hospital of Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. Since then, we have grown to become known as a pillar of veterinary emergency and specialty care within San Antonio and South Texas. In 2016, we partnered with Compassion-First Pet Hospitals and are now proud to be part of the NVA Compassion-First network. Our team is comprised of industry leaders, pioneers and board-certified experts who are accelerating the field of veterinary medicine with innovative techniques set to uncompromising standards.

The salary is competitive and correlated to experience.

Responsibilities

  • Capability to collect and interpret patient vitals

  • Assign priority levels to patients upon triage

  • Records health history of patients

  • Manage patient inquiries in a timely, efficient manner

  • Facilitate client communication regarding their pet’s status, concerns, and authorizations

  • Collaborate with the Emergency Department clinical staff to ensure appropriate placement and scheduling for incoming patients.

  • Comfortable with medical terminology and financial conversations

  • Compile appropriate paperwork and maintain logs

  • Ability to cope with high levels of stress

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Perform related work as requested
