Position Summary

This is a position on the Cybersecurity and IT Governance team within the Cybersecurity Governance, Risk (GRC), and Compliance organization. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in IT & Cybersecurity governance, data protection, data loss prevention, data governance, developing IT, OT and Cybersecurity standards while ensuring that MPC complies with industry regulations, laws, and internal policies.

The candidate will serve as the Solution Architect for Cybersecurity Governance and will also perform the role of SAFe Agile Product Owner. The candidate will be responsible for evangelizing governance, risk and compliance to the broader MPC community including partnering closely with our Infrastructure, Audit, and Legal teams. Will be providing guidance and recommendations to improve IT and OT environments and building governance frameworks as appropriate for the technology and process. This position works closely with business partners including IT and OT , process owners, internal senior level leadership, and internal/external audit groups to ensure appropriate implementation and representation of IT and Cybersecurity practices and postures.

This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures alignment between teams to build and prioritize roadmaps, plans releases, and aligns them with business objectives. Proactively addresses and resolves issues by collaborating with Agile teams, stakeholders, and business representatives.

  • Supports architectural governance and compliance, contributes to defining principles, guidelines, and standards. Participates and contributes to solution architecture reviews and ensures architecture adherence as well as changes to the products and capabilities of the Cybersecurity Governance Team.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure solution alignment with business objectives. Facilitates communication and planning between business and operations teams, User Experience (UX) design, product, engineering, analytics and customer support teams.

  • Evaluates and selects appropriate technologies, frameworks, and platforms by analyzing technology trends and impacts, contributes to vendor assessments. Carries out customer research, product discovery and synthesizes market factors into a cohesive product strategy.

  • Writes epics and stories to support completion of initiatives; ensures stories clearly communicate the customer and stakeholder needs to meet key business objectives and strategies for the product; promotes Agile approaches to product development across teams/areas.

  • Prioritizes the short-term value stream backlog and releases, as well as the long-term roadmap for the team

  • Leads the design and development of end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements. Analyzes and translates business and technical requirements into solution designs. Leads the translation of business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints, collaborating with product owners and managers. Defines system integration approaches and ensures interoperability of components.

  • Provides guidance and support to Cybersecurity Governance teams during solution design and implementation. Manages the architecture for a broader scope of projects, develops roadmaps for portfolio evolution.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology preferred, related field or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of relevant architecture experience required.

  • Experience with Cybersecurity GRC related industry frameworks preferred.

  • Familiar with Agile SAFe® preferred.

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) - Understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and platforms to design architectures that support intelligent systems and enable AI-driven applications.

  • Business Acumen for Architecture - Understanding of business processes, strategies, and goals to align architectural decisions with organizational objectives.

  • Cloud Computing - Knowing how to manage cloud services, develop cloud applications and use cloud architecture to meet customer needs

  • Data Analytics & Big Data - Knowledge of data analytics frameworks and technologies, such as data lakes, data warehouses, and machine learning, to design architectures that effectively handle large volumes of data and enable advanced analytics.

  • Data Classification and Handling – Knowledge of the process of formally grouping configuration items by item e.g.: software, hardware, documentation, environment, application. Knowledge of the process of formally identifying changes by type e.g.: product scope change request, corrective change request, innovative function change request, technical infrastructure change request. And, knowledge of the process of formally identifying incidents, problems and known errors by origin, symptoms and cause.

  • DevOps & Agile Methodologies - Knowledge of DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and agile development methodologies to facilitate efficient and collaborative software development and deployment.

  • Internet of Things (IoT) - Familiarity with IoT concepts and protocols, as well as experience designing architectures that incorporate IoT devices and enable seamless connectivity and data exchange

  • IT Security Management – The process, tools, and methodologies applied for the protection of information and information systems against unauthorized access or modification of information.

  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking- Strong problem-solving skills to identify architectural challenges, analyze requirements, evaluate options, and propose effective solutions.

  • Security Governance - The process of developing and disseminating corporate security policies, frameworks, and guidelines to ensure that day-to-day business operations are guarded and well protected against risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.

  • Security Policy Management – The process of identifying, implementing and managing the rules and procedures that all individuals must follow when accessing and using an organization’s IT assets and resources.

  • Systems Thinking - The ability to analyze complex systems and understand their interdependencies, considering both technical and business aspects, to develop comprehensive and scalable architectures

  • Technical Expertise - A strong understanding of various technologies, platforms, and systems relevant to the organization's architecture, such as networking, databases, cloud computing, and security.
