Job Summary:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager , you will provide leadership for the Manufacturing Engineering, Controls Engineering, and Maintenance departments within a machining facility. In this role, you will be engaged in full lifecycle of the equipment utilized to machine & assemble core engine components. From concept, procurement, and maintenance of the equipment you will have the opportunity to enable the organization to achieve performance objectives.
What You Will Do:
This multi-faceted role has responsibility for the following areas:
Manufacturing & Controls Engineering Team with responsibility for the equipment and process design for machining applications.
Maintenance Team with responsibility for the maintenance of manufacturing equipment and controls systems within the facility.
Provide training and development opportunities for team members that not only satisfy current role, but also prepare them for their next opportunity.
Collaborate with peer organizations within the business to deliver enterprise objectives.
Coordinates the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts.
Coordinates release dates and availability of machines, equipment and material to maintain project schedules.
Establishes standards and works with shop personnel to resolve problems related to process, tooling, equipment, etc.
Support long-term objectives through collaboration with the Advanced Planning Team and management of the capital investment process from forecast to execution.
Maintain awareness of industry and technology changes as part of continuous improvement routine to better serve our customers.

Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Monitors methods and requirements for equipment environment to ensure protection against damage.
• Participates in evaluation and selection of new equipment.
• Facilitates the coordination and integration of multi-vendor equipment environments.
• Analyzes equipment history; monitors overall machine performance; evaluates planned upgrades.
Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
• Oversees all activities for the organization's manufacturing environment; establishes best practices and policies.
• Monitors industry and other organizations for innovations in manufacturing approaches.
• Champions the use of new and emerging manufacturing processes and methodologies.
Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Facilitates and maintains the Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFEA) within the Manufacturing Engineering space to ensure safety is embedded into our processes.
• Performs design reviews and safety inspections to assure compliance with OSHA requirements.
• Designs and implements emergency response processes and procedures.
• Promotes workplace safety among supervisors and workers; actively engaged in Safety Continuous Improvement process.
• Serves as a safety advocate to address safety concerns in a timely manner.
• Ensures that all employees and contractors comply with relevant safety policies and regulations.
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Consults on development and implementation of cross-functional standards.
• Participates in the development of organizational policies and practices.
• Develops control and monitoring mechanisms for adherence.
• Collaborates with other functions on establishing and documenting cross-functional standards.
• Participates in defining architectural principles and standards for organization.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
