Job Title: Maintenance Technician II or III

  • 4 days on/ 3 days off/ 3 days on/ 4 days off ROTATION

  • $28 - 35/hr Based on experience

  • Day and Night Shift available

Location: South East San Antonio

Industry: High Speed, automated, agricultural & organic food products.

New location, new facility opened in 2024!

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician 2 or 3 to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our new manufacturing facility by performing a variety of mechanical and electrical tasks. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing equipment, robotics, packaging, facilities, water systems, agricultural grow equipment and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance procedures on assigned equipment, including:

  • AC & DC motors

  • Motor controls

  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

  • Electrical distribution (480v or less)

  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Packing machinery

  • Automated harvesters and de-stackers

  • Water and agricultural systems

  • Seal packers and bale shavers

  • Chillers and heat exchangers

  • Conveyors

  • Boiler-type equipment

  • Pumps and plumbing

  • Air compressors

  • Other automated facility equipment

  • Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, performing accurate troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Install and configure new equipment according to specifications.

  • Effectively communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and managers regarding maintenance needs, progress reports, and any safety concerns.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed, including service logs and repair reports.

  • Adhere to all relevant safety protocols, including OSHA, NFPA, LOTO, and GMP guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance Technician, or a combination of two (2) years of trade/technical school education in a related field and five (5) years of relevant experience.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical controls and equipment, including AC & DC motors, drives, and electrical distribution systems.

  • A solid understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automation/robotic principles.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.

  • Experience and ability to prepare clear and concise documentation and records.

  • The ability to understand and interpret equipment manuals.

  • Ability to work safely at heights using ladders, platforms, and lifts.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

  • Strong plumbing skills preferred.

  • Experience with conveyors and elevators a plus.

  • Basic welding and fabrication, piping and plumbing skills a plus.

  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  • A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies.

  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
