Job Description:
The Terracon San Antonio Office is looking for a new member to join our successful and growing environmental site assessment team. General Responsibilities
Conduct Phase II environmental site assessments and limited site investigations to determine presence / absence of contamination in soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and surface water. Conduct groundwater monitoring at permitted sites.
Log and classify soil following standard practices and methods.
Evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data including soil and groundwater to develop conclusions concerning the environmental and geologic site conditions.
Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections and collaborate with engineering and environmental scientist staff on projects.
Prepare written plans and reports related to site investigation and remediation activities.
Participate in client meetings under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning.
Maintain quality standards on tasks performed and prepared deliverables.
Perform site visits, field observations, and field data collection or assignments.
Assist in the collection and analysis of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to evaluate, plan, and permit projects.
Conduct water, soil, and other sampling.
Implement technical requirements to complete client projects by directing field staff to sample, test, and collect data and/or document site activities.
Outline required investigative program(s) by selecting the proper alternative techniques to conduct site studies in field of expertise.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field and a minimum of 1-year related experience.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification/Experience:
Geologist in Training or Professional Geoscientist licensed in Texas.
40-hour OSHA Training
Geographic information systems
Microsoft Excel and Word.
