Wire Design & Install Engineer – Elevate Aerospace Innovation

Location: San Antonio, TX

Job Type: Full-time; Consultant (6 Months)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

Pay Rate: $61.10 - $76.49 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Wire Design & Install Engineer to join our dynamic aerospace team in San Antonio, TX. This role is pivotal in developing state-of-the-art electrical systems for aircraft, ensuring top-tier performance and reliability. You’ll be at the forefront of electrical product design, wire harness development, and installation solutions, working on industry-leading aerospace projects.

Your Impact & Responsibilities

• Design and maintain cable/wire harnesses, electrical assemblies, and installation systems.

• Develop and refine electrical product designs, including equipment racks, power panels, antennas, and cable routing.

• Perform detailed design analysis and technical reviews, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.

• Provide engineering design disposition for discrepancies, including rejection tags, production action requests, and shop revision requests.

• Document processes, specifications, and procedures supporting electrical design and manufacturing.

• Collaborate in the technical review of supplier capabilities to support sourcing decisions.

• Work under general direction, contributing to mission-critical aviation programs.

What You Bring to the Team

Required Qualifications:

• Five or more years of experience in wire design and installation engineering.

• Proficiency in wire design tools such as Mentor Capital, MAPPER, WIRS, EDART, or equivalent avionics wire design systems.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Highly motivated team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with requirements management software such as DOORS.

• Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model-Based Engineering throughout the development lifecycle.

• Hands-on experience with aircraft or avionics development programs.

Pay Details: $61.10 to $76.49 per hour
