Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accounting Leader based in San Antonio, Texas. This role is crucial in overseeing the accounting activities of various production lines, monitoring financial metrics, and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with operations and warehousing leadership to ensure all transactions and reporting are accurate and timely.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor plant results against budget, local cost metrics trends, and related activities

• Quantify and measure financial returns versus production forecast in collaboration with Planning

• Collaborate with the local Accounting/Finance department on daily reports

• Guide Plant Managers and Supervisors on cost targets and standards to drive optimal financial results

• Monitor and analyze production yield, downtime, and labor, report weekly on attainment and KPIs with trends

• Monitor, analyze, and report period over period actual results against the budget

• Monitor capacity week over week versus efficiency/automation opportunities

• Ensure all financial transactions and reporting with operations and warehousing are complete, accurate, and timely: Work in Process and Finished Goods

• Coordinate all internal and external financial and operational audits and address any audit findings with plant & warehousing and corporate leadership

• Perform frequent walk-throughs of local manufacturing site with Plant Leadership to address production and costing issues and efficiency improvements

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Cost Accounting role, with at least 5 years in a relevant position

• Proficiency in CapEx and DCAA is essential

• Solid understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Familiarity with Hyperion Technologies and About Time software

• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting functions and budget processes

• Proficiency in cost accounting and costing methodologies

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other accounting software.
