Engineering Manager – Data Center Projects
About the job:
A Commissioning Engineering Manager reports to an Engineering Director and oversees the commissioning process for new data center construction projects. The Engineering Manager creates schedules for the Commissioning process, identifies and resolves any problems/delays.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical commissioning expertise and ideally have previous experience within data center projects. They should have a strong understanding of building system interconnectivity and aptitude for problem solving and providing updates to clients.
Responsibilities:
Primary activities include managing team members, ensuring financial performance, consistently promoting services, and expanding business development through positive references.
Additional activities include assigning team members where they can be successful, providing constructive feedback on positive and negative performance to improve their skills and value, ensuring staff is at maximum utilization and projects are appropriately staffed, leading weekly staff scheduling, and approving time and expense submission of all team members.
Administrative activities include projecting revenue and labor requirements, executing target billable hours and sales targets for the team, presenting at private or public events including trade shows, and participating in and leading sessions of the company-wide safety and training programs.
Business development activities include leading design phase projects to allow for project understanding and connections with key members, supporting development of change orders for existing projects, and initiating new relationships with strategic clients/markets/sectors to expand business plans.
Candidate must be able to travel to and from various job sites within the assigned region.
Requirements:
Degree in HVACR, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management OR an Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology OR related trade school, construction, maintenance, or engineering controls experience
Extensive experience in a management position related to maintenance, construction, or engineering controls OR 7+ years in the Cx industry
Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, bid process, and ancillary industry documents
Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Cx Software
Ability to lead a team firmly and fairly, accept responsibility, and solicit involvement from team members
Effective verbal and written skills, with public speaking and presentation capabilities. Utilize effective management skills and communication to meet Cx milestones. Has leadership skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, within budget.
Aptitude to solve problems independently and in a team environment
Adaptability to varying indoor and outdoor working conditions
Physical fitness, capability to lift at least 30 pounds, and ability to climb ladders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
P.E., CCP, CxA, CEM, or similar certification from experience
Trade Association involvement
OSHA 30 or other safe workplace certifications
