Boeing is currently looking for an Aircraft Mechanic (Entry-Level) to join their team in San Antonio, Texas . This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

A tube fabricator at the Boeing facility is responsible for manufacturing and assembling various types of tubes used in aircraft systems. Their primary role involves working with metal tubes and pipes to create precise and high-quality components that meet the specifications and requirements of Boeing aircraft.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Tube Cutting and Shaping: Tube fabricators use specialized tools and machinery to cut and shape metal tubes according to specific measurements and blueprints. They may use techniques such as sawing, shearing, or cutting tools to achieve the desired shape and size.

  • Tube Bending: Bending tubes is a crucial aspect of the fabrication process. Tube fabricators utilize bending machines and fixtures to accurately bend tubes to the required angles and dimensions. They must have a good understanding of different bending techniques and be able to work with various tube materials, such as aluminum, titanium or stainless steel.

  • Tube Quality Control: Tube fabricators play a vital role in maintaining quality standards throughout the fabrication process. They inspect tubes for defects, measure dimensions, and perform tests to ensure that the finished products meet the required specifications. They may use precision measuring tools, such as calipers or micrometers, to verify accuracy.

  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Tube fabricators are responsible for maintaining accurate records of their work, including documenting measurements, materials used, and any issues encountered during the fabrication process. This documentation is essential for quality control purposes and for traceability in case of any future inspections or audits.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Tube fabricators often work as part of a team, collaborating with engineers, designers, and other fabricators to ensure smooth production processes. They may need to communicate any challenges or suggestions for improvement to their supervisors or colleagues.

Overall, a tube fabricator at the Boeing facility plays a critical role in the manufacturing of aircraft components. Their expertise in tube cutting, shaping, bending, and quality control ensures the production of high-quality and reliable tubes used in Boeing aircraft systems.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience manually manufacturing aircraft tubing

  • 1+ years of experience operating manual mill and lathe machine

  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in aircraft manual tube fabrication

  • Machine shop experience

  • Experience with aircraft ship side

Typical Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED and typically 5+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Pay Rate : $66,560

Additive Pay: $1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification

$1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification

$2.00/hourly for both Airframe & Powerplant Certifications
