Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining program records including day-to-day office duties including typing, filing, answering phones, scheduling meetings, providing customer service to students, faculty and staff. The administrative associate performs other activities as needed including preparing faculty travel leave request and vouchers, recruiting and retaining students; final checkout for Field Residency and Student Teaching placements; and compiling reports that may be required by university administration or external agencies primarily for Educator Preparation Program (EPP) and the College of Education & Human Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains student and program records related to activities of the College of Education & Human Development; Educator Preparation Program (EPP) including field residency and student teacher applications and supporting files, budgets, schedule/coordinate appointments and meetings, flyers, travel requests and vouchers for EPP faculty.

  • Prepares and processes monthly payroll, EPAs, and letters of appointment.

  • Assists with the documentation and credentialing of new hires.

  • Screens calls and takes messages.

  • Handles correspondence and prepares reports.

  • Provides excellent customer service to students as needed.

  • Maintains office equipment and assists in acquiring supplies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required ​ Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma.

  • Five years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a high stress environment.

  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently once given a project.
