JOB SUMMARY
The Laborer I is primarily tasked with sorting and separating materials and with general maintenance of the yard.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment, when and where required.
- Separate metals, which may require using a torch, and sort into the appropriate receptacles.
- Direct customer traffic in the yard.
- Assist the Greenbuilder department when requested.
- Comply with company safety policies and with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Immediately report any safety violations or unsafe conditions.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of some formal education
- At least six months of related experience
- Must have dependable transportation
- Willingness to work some weekends and holidays as requested or needed.
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for products used in operations
- Basic math skills
- Ability to be forklift certified
PREFERRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or its equivalent
