Schedule: Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk) 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Department: Systems Engineering - 514

Primary Purpose:

As a Technical Training Coordinator, Automation your key area of responsibility is the research, design, development and delivery of technical training curriculum for engineering departments and their end-users. Documents training, assesses effectiveness of training and makes changes to training program as needed. Coordinates media resources such as videography, photos, and 3D models for the purposes of creating training material. Directs the technical writing for the engineering departments to convey effective information. Works closely, and collaborates with, all internal departments. To be successful in this role you will possess strong organizational skills with an ability to plan, prioritize and execute tasks in an efficient manner.

Essential Functions:

Performs analysis and designs and develops training program for end-users and service teams for engineering products and systems

Coordinates and delivers training events to include developing agendas, checklists, manuals, and assessment signoffs

Facilitates train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts

Manages incoming train ing requests and organizes, updates, and maintains training content

Designs, prepares and orders educational aids and materials

Organizes and structures, manages and performs technical writing to effectively convey information

Assesses instructional effectiveness and determines the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs

Coordinates training activities for new hires, cross training and training as a result of corrective actions.

Works with engineers and managers to develop safety education programs and conducts effectiveness checks

Gathers feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session

Partners with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design

Maintains updated curriculum database and training records

Researches and recommends new training methods

Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicates with others.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Ability to travel between locations in Salt Lake City, ability to travel out of state for up to three weeks at a time

 

Qualifications
Education
Required

Bachelor's Degree or better in Other or related field.

Experience

Required

Bachelor's degree

Three years experience developing and administering technical training

 

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in engineering or education

Master's degree in Instructional Psychology and Technology, English, or other applicable area

Four years technical training experience in an engineering manufacturing setting

Ability to read electrical schematics

Working knowledge of SolidWorks and Solidworks Composer

Project management experience in a manufacturing setting

Familiarity with and the ability to learn and navigate new software platforms

Strong presentation, communication, writing and interpersonal skills

Proactive, positive attitude, internal motivation and collaborative style is expected

Advanced writing skills: organization, research, formatting, style, grammar, spelling, tone, creative writing, especially dialogue and paragraphing, and adjusting writing for any given audience
