Overview The Service Engineer IV performs major repairs and advanced troubleshooting, training, and mentoring of Service Engineers on laboratory automation systems and equipment. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. CLIA Title:New York State Title:

Responsibility * Uses professional concepts and company's policies and procedures to independently solve a wide range of complex issues in the lab in accordance with SOPs. Able to independently troubleshoot moderate to complex issues in the lab. Performs root cause investigations of equipment failure. * Responsibilities include level I-III duties, in addition to directing and overseeing the troubleshooting and repair of complex instrumentation and automated laboratory systems. including custom software and software-driven instrument integration. * Responsible for training new hires and Level I-III engineers on troubleshooting and repair of various complex automation platforms. * Oversees equipment SOP creation and leads review of equipment documentation. Collaborates to develop best practices for maintaining instruments and to specify appropriate tools and techniques required for maintenance and troubleshooting. * Follows communication and good documentation practices in compliance with regulatory (FDA, ISO, CAP/CLIA, New York State) requirements. * Work is consistently accurate and clear with effort on identifying cause and solution to the root cause. * Coordinates vendor service visits and contracts with the Service Engineering Supervisor/Manager. * Completes many special assignments assigned by supervision above and beyond normal job responsibilities and identifies additional projects to work on related to the efficiency of the current process. * Lead contributor to cross-functional and cross-site projects and high impact process improvements. * Completes training for all applicable instruments. * Participates in large cross-functional team projects or becomes a project manager of process improvement project. * Participates in internal audits and inspection prep. Qualifications * Meets one of the following education and experience requirements: * PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Biology, Computer Science, or related field with minimum 2 years of relevant experience or * Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biology, Computer Science, or related field with minimum 4 years of relevant experience or * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biology, Computer Science, or related field with minimum 6 years of relevant experience or * AS Degree with minimum 8 years of relevant experience or * Minimum 10 years of relevant experience or * Minimum 8 year of internal experience with Myriad lab processes. * Demonstrated high proficiency in upstream and downstream laboratory operations. * Track record of implementing best practices for maintaining complex instrumentation in a regulated setting, especially liquid handlers. * Demonstrated...
