Job Title: Senior Paralegal – Trial Department

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

We seek a Senior Paralegal to join our Trial Department in our Salt Lake City office. As a critical member of our client service teams, you will collaborate closely with attorneys, co-counsel, and clients on various substantive legal matters, particularly within commercial litigation. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive individual who can manage complex legal tasks and contribute significantly to trial preparation and client service. In this role, you will:

  • Assist attorneys with litigation processes from pre-trial through post-trial procedures, including document analysis, legal research, trial preparation, and attendance in commercial trials.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of legal procedures, electronic discovery, document management, and legal terminology to paralegal tasks. Serve as a senior resource for procedures and organization policies.

  • Manage large volumes of documents and data, working closely with attorneys to ensure proper organization and accessibility, particularly for complex commercial cases.

  • Locate and review information applicable to specific cases, individuals, or subjects through online research or document reviews.

  • Review, organize, hyperlink, and maintain document databases and spreadsheets for case tracking, discovery, and production, especially for commercial litigation cases.

  • Draft original correspondence and materials for communication under attorney’s signature. On occasion, draft correspondence for client signatures within the ethical boundaries of a paralegal position.

  • Regularly communicate with clients, government agencies, consultants, and other parties to gather and assemble information; effectively communicate findings to attorneys.

  • Fact-check and proofread briefs and legal documents to ensure accuracy.

  • Prepare, send, and track subpoenas as necessary.

  • Collaborate effectively with business professionals and attorneys to provide exceptional and efficient client service.

  • Organize, monitor, and maintain multiple projects to ensure timely completion, including for commercial litigation matters.

  • Perform other duties as needed to support the litigation team.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience.

  • At least 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with commercial trial experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Strong proficiency with Excel spreadsheets and data manipulation.

  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and exercise independent judgment.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to efficiently manage a large volume of detailed tasks.

  • Professionalism in working with personnel at all levels.

  • Advanced understanding of Federal, State, and local rules of procedure, including electronic and hard copy court filing procedures.

  • Experience preparing for hearings, depositions, trials, arbitrations, and mediations, with specific experience in commercial litigation.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines individually and in a team environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Practical knowledge of litigation-related software and databases, including Nuix and OnCue.
