University of Utah Research Development Assistant in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Be part of a small team working to develop and project manage multi-project, training, and institutional federal grants at a challenging and rewarding tempo.Desirable candidate will have demonstrated a strong organizational capacity and attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to balance priorities while ensuring follow through with a diverse set of responsibilities.This is a hybrid position, the expectation is in office at least 1 day a week and remote up to 4 days. This may change based on departmental needs.It is expected the Grant/Contract Officer will learn about federal grant applications while performing a diverse set of tasks, working closely with our team and with the grants and contracts pre-award team at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).Duties and responsibilities will include various communication, administration, organization, formatting, and grant support tasks. This position will also work as needed with HCIs Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) team, helping to manage data collection, reporting, and grant preparation for that major grant.The ideal candidate is someone who intends to stay with us for at least three years, during which time they can expect to gain experience and training that can directly translate into a long-term career with HCI and the University of Utah with the potential to advance as a grants and contracts officer or other related role. This position will report to the Associate Director of Research Development, Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).
