Job Description
Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is one of the most technically advanced designers and manufacturers of lightweight composite aerospace structures, subassemblies and components. For more than 50 years, AEC has innovated advanced composite solutions for defense and commercial industries in applications from large commercial transports to fighter jets and commercial and military rotorcraft.

The Quality Manager will have comprehensive knowledge / experience within the quality engineering discipline and be accountable for departmental performance and results. The QEM will lead a team of quality engineers to define the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspection, and the reduction of variation in manufacturing operations. In addition, the successful candidate will drive the resolution of quality problems and assure that product quality objectives are met by developing and sustaining quality improvement plans. The QEM will have regular interaction with internal and external contacts across multiple programs/projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
5- 10 years in a manufacturing environment; aerospace experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage direct reports
Proficient in print reading, interpretation, and part measurement
Knowledge of APQP (Control Plans, FAI, FMEA) and other advanced quality tools
Demonstrated knowledge of geometric design and tolerance (GDandT)
Demonstrated knowledge of statistical quality control
Demonstrated ability to investigate quality problems and to apply sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions
Proficient oral and written communication skills
Ability to effectively organize and plan
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate and facilitate others in group situations
High level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative course of action for definition and resolution of problems
Ability to exercise independent judgment is required
High degree of professionalism

Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30
Experience/Education/Skills
Bachelor's Degree required in engineering field.
Minimum of 5 years management experiences
Ability to interpret and use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
5 + years of FAI experiences
5 + plus year of QA experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the aerospace industry)
Understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements
Basic Computer Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
3 + years QA experience in composite airframe components and assemblies a big plus
A and P license or equivalent training and experience preferred
Knowledge of lean and six sigma methodologies preferred
