University of Utah PS Research Assistant/Analyst in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
The focus of our research is on neurologic autonomic disorders, with particular interest in those that are considered to be dysautonomias a poorly understood category of autonomic neurological dysfunction where disease expression is presumed to be circuit-based, rather than neurodegenerative. We are currently looking to hire one full-time research assistant/analyst to assist with NIH- and foundation-funded studies aimed at discovering biomarkers of human disease; an ideal candidate will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, experience with data management/statistical software, and/or clinically oriented exposures. Research assistants will work under the mentorship of Dr. Cortez in the Department of Neurology, alongside a dynamic team of other study team members. This position is particularly well suited for early-career individuals on a career path toward Research Analyst or Research Coordinator positions, and/or individuals seeking to gain research with clinical and/or physiology related experience prior to graduate or medical school.Conducts data collection (including human physiology) and study visit facilitation, provides technical support for study protocols along with equipment setup/maintenance, and assists with human participant related study visits and related activities. Gathers and organizes data, literature searches, medical record reviews and related non-lab methods for studies and related protocols, grants, publications and other research-related uses. Other duties as required.
