University of Utah PS Nurse Practitioner in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
This position is based in the division of urology University of Utah with a specific focus on working with the urologic oncology surgery team at Huntsman Cancer Hospital. The team currently consists of 4 physicians and 5 physician assistants supported by a team of highly skilled RNs and MAs who are looking to replace a 5th APC who is leaving. It is a dynamic team looking for someone who is self-motivated and team oriented with an emphasis on being patient-focused. There is a premium placed on development of the APC with expectations of continuing education, skill development, research support, and collaboration with other oncology services. The APC will need to be able to perform both independent and collaborative care with a physician. This is a surgical practice with primary responsibilities being in the outpatient setting. Clinical responsibilities will include an ability to perform various urologic based office procedures. Requirements include the ability to manage post-operative patients, patient education, and strong communication. It is also required to convey lab, imaging, and pathology results to patients in a timely manner with expertise and compassion. There is a strong emphasis placed on surgical background, specifically as a robotic first assist, as the candidate may have opportunity to assist on these cases.
