Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The Changhong Xing Lab in the Department of Pathology has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow who shares our vision for excellence in research. The position will be based at the University of Utah School of Medicine, ranked among the top 30 public research universities in the nation.

Our lab focuses on understanding how modifying microglial phenotypes will affect the outcomes in neurological disorders including ischemic stroke and glioma using combined biochemistry, molecular biology, imaging, cell culture, and animal models etc. We are dedicated to supporting your personal and professional goals.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant should have a PhD in cell/molecular/microbiology and/or immunology. Applicants with expertise in one of the following areas are preferred: molecular biology & biochemistry; immunology & flow cytometry; or cell biology & animal studies. Excellent communication skills (speaking and writing English), and a track record of publication in English language journals are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will give you the unique chance to actively drive research projects.

The successful post doc will be involved in the development of experimental design, data collection, and analysis. Projects will involve collaborations with colleagues at the University of Utah as well as those at other institutions.

The post doc will be expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students assisting with the research.
