Job Description:

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (Neonatology)

Opportunity to join a large established team of Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers supporting newborn intensive care units in Salt Lake County, Utah. We provide patient care at six Intermountain Health Hospitals at all levels of acuity (level IV NICU to well newborn).

Full time, our APPs work an average of 3 12-hour shifts per week, which includes rotating day (0600-1800), night (1800-0600), weekend, and holiday responsibilities. Opportunity for flexible schedule, including part time hours may be available.

  • Guaranteed base salary. The APP will also be eligible for shift differentials ranging from 10-50% additional income when working nights, weekends, holidays, or extra shifts.

Job Essentials

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as:

  • Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;

  • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;

  • Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;

  • Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others;

  • Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;

  • Consultation with other healthcare providers;

  • Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;

  • Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.

Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).

Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

or

Certification as a Physician Assistant and 1+ years of NICU experience.

  • and -

Eligible for State Controlled Substance License.

  • and -

Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.

  • and -

BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.

  • and -

Other certification as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$60.33 - $93.08
