DORSEY & WHITNEY LLP Legal Talent Coordinator in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
We are looking for a Legal Talent Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting Dorsey's respectful, inclusive, and high-performance culture by managing the attorney evaluation processes, partnership admission process, and attorney compensation processes. In this role, you will:
Work closely with the Director of Legal Talent Management (LTM) to plan, prepare for and coordinate the execution of multiple attorney performance evaluation processes, including:
Updating various forms related to each process and tracking tasks on spreadsheets.
Creating and configuring evaluation databases to ensure they include the correct evaluatees and evaluators, appropriate security configurations, and documents for each evaluate.
Creating and maintaining a website portal with information for evaluators and Practice Group Directors (PGDs).
Scheduling various meetings and taking meeting minutes.
Preparing and sending emails related to each evaluation process and to inform new hires about the evaluation process.
Coordinating with PGDs on the delivery of performance evaluations for associates and other attorneys within their groups, tracking the status of evaluations, sending reminder emails, and regularly updating the Director of LTM.
Reviewing and saving completed evaluation forms.
Monitoring and promptly responding to emails sent to a shared email inbox.
Coordinate communication with key contacts throughout the firm (including Marketing, Office Managers, and other contacts) regarding important dates in the partnership admission process. Prepare draft announcements and coordinate logistics related to gifts for newly admitted partners.
Support the LTM and Finance teams in the planning and executing of the annual compensation processes for associates and other attorneys, including drafting correspondence, creating and configuring databases, scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, and drafting, sending, and tracking compensation memos.
Draft attorney change in status memos, draft and send internal notices for attorney status changes and terminations, complete all related tasks, and track completion of tasks on a spreadsheet.
Assist the Director of LTM in workload allocation efforts by attending regular meetings to take minutes, sending follow-up emails, and reviewing and distributing feedback to junior associates via email.
Support the firm's attorney mentoring initiatives by maintaining the associate mentoring log, attending meetings and taking minutes, and providing logistical and coordination support on the development and implementation of new attorney mentoring initiatives.
Create and maintain the LTM team's files and folders, including "how to" guides that explain steps for completing recurring tasks. Regularly review and update LTM information on various documents and internal websites.
Responsible for special projects, as assigned. May perform other duties not listed above.
What we're looking for:
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in administration (human resources, finance, or other business environment).
Strong attention to detail and ability to apply sound judgment and a high degree of trustworthiness when handling confidential and sensitive information.
Self-motivated and a demonstrated ability to work independently.
Ability to organize and maintain accurate records.
Ability to prioritize workload and work within prescribed deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skils and ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Excellent analytical, cr tical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Word applications.
Preferred:
Human Resources experience.
Experience with databases, Smartsheets and/or UKG.
Bachelor's degree.

The pay range for this position in Minnesota and Colorado only is $27.00 to $36.00 per hour.
This range represents Dorsey's good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and location and may fall outside of the range indicated.
