State of Utah - Jobs Financial Analyst II in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
The Utah National Guard is looking to hire a Financial Analyst II. This position will serve as a back up to the Financial Manager in their absence.
This position may be underfilled as a Financial Analyst I.
Principal Duties As the Financial Analyst II you will:
- Audit and manage PCards, billing, PO (Purchase Orders), and departmental state and federal budgets.
- Research and review financial records, schedules, reports and/or problem areas.
- Develop and/or interpret fiscal statements and reports.
- Reconciles financial statements and reports.
- Review fiscal operations to ensure integrity, accuracy and control of data.
- Analyze, summarize and/or review data; report findings, interpret results and/or make recommendations.
The Ideal Candidate The ideal person for this position has:
- Proven work experience in the finance/accounting area.
- Experience with monitoring and managing financial functions (especially with government based funds).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other finance systems.
- Strong financial analyst skills.

Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):
- Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.
- Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System.
- Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
- Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.

Paid Time Off:
- Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).
- Annual leave amounts increase with years of service.
