UTAH COMMUNITY ACTION Energy Auditor in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Utah Community Action of Salt Lake City, UT is seeking to hire a full time Energy Auditor to work in our Weatherization Program.

This Energy Auditor position earns a competitive wage of $26.66/hour based on experience and credentials. Responsible for performing certified residential energy audits on low-income households and conducting quality inspections on completed projects. Utilize multiple funding sources to maximize energy saving opportunities for eligible client structures. Prepare work orders guiding residential retrofit installations according to Utah's weatherization assistance program Field Guide. Verify and document that all work performed and client files are complete and meet the Agency, Federal and State grant requirements. Coordinate and schedule the close out of building inspections with code enforcement agencies wherever necessary. Responsible for proper use and maintaining of organization vehicles and tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma, GED or combination of experience and education.
  • 1 year of related experience.
  • BPI Quality Control inspector certification, Energy Auditor certification, lead inspector certification and Rocky Mountain Gas Association (RMGA) certifications are required or must be obtained with 9 months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Weatherization experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related filed.

Physical Demands

Frequent walking, standing, climbing, lifting, stooping, or carrying of equipment and materials may be required. This position is required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures, close quarter situations, high and precarious places, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations

OTHER JOB DUTIES

  • Ability to use diagnostic testing equipment to evaluate gas combustion appliances, pressure diagnostics and completed work at job site.
  • Ability to use computer and software programs to estimate energy savings upgrades and create work orders for crews to install the recommended measures.
  • Identify any health or safety issues related to planned weatherization projects.
  • Inspect or evaluate building envelopes, mechanical systems and electrical systems to determine the energy consumption of each system.
  • Energy efficient construction knowledge.
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
  • The capacity to work both as a team player and individually, while contributing to a productive, fun work environment and displaying a pleasant, helpful attitude.
  • Strong understanding of residential energy and building codes

Work Environment

Work is generally performed in a variety of environments: office, interior operational settings, and outdoors, with frequent interruptio ns and irregularities in the work schedule. Work is frequently performed in residential homes with exposure attics, crawl spaces, and confined spaces. Often includes exposure to outdoor weather conditions during both hot and cool months.

WORK CHEDULE

Typical work schedule 7:30am-4:00pm Monday through Friday. No weekend or evening hours required. Located in Salt Lake City. Travel in company vehicle required.
