ARUP Laboratories Education Coordinator- Distance Education in Salt Lake City, Utah

Schedule: Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk)8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Department: Education - 261

Primary Purpose :

This position will work as a member of the Institute for Learning (IFL) Distance Education team. This position will provide project management, collaboration, and coordination for the design, development, delivery and promotion of educational content published on the MLS Faculty & Student Resource Center website. This position coordinates and provides support for ARUP's client speaker, webinar and external conference programs. The position works with Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) program faculty, medical directors, ARUP management, education coordinators, course developers and subject matter experts, in support of the educational goals and objectives of ARUP's Distance Education program. Additionally, the position will support various reporting aspects of distance education activities.

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company/departmental policies. ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.Absolute integrity in the accurate identification of samples, test performance, and reporting of resultsVision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.

Qualifications

Education

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or better in General Education

Preferred

  • Master's Degree or better in General Education

Experience

Required

  • 3 years: Directly applicable experience in areas such as training and/or education

Preferred

  • Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database and e-mail applications)

  • Master’s degree in Education

  • MLS(ASCP) / MT(ASCP) or Specialty Certification or Teaching Certificate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, related life science, Education, or related field
