Are you passionate about team development and management? The Utah Transit Authority wants you to apply to be ourBus Operations Supervisor. In this role, you will lead and supervise a team of bus operators as they serve our community by providing consistent and reliable bus service.

 

As a Bus Operations Supervisor, you will:

  • Take control of Bus Operator career development and needs.
  • Communicate company goals and objectives to operators and provide feedback and guidance on their performance.
  • Schedule Bus Operator work assignments
  • Audit Bus Operator payroll
  • Provide administrative and operational support.
  • Investigate incidents and/or accidents involving any system problems.
  • Coordinate trimester bidding processes and daily dispatching duties
  • Develop partnerships with employees, union leadership, and other departments to create positive change.
  • Establish an enjoyable and productive work environment for your team.
  • Build partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and agencies to identify, coordinate and address transportation needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies.

     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Must have four years of leadership experience which may include supervision, operating instructor, union position, or other relevant supervisory experience.
  • Two years of work experience in the transit industry is preferred.
  • Associates degree or two years college education.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain CDL with Passenger Endorsement and DOT card.
  • Must have a valid Utah driver's license and no more than 4 moving violations in the past 3 years; cannot have more than 1 violation of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs within the last 10 years.
  • Good previous job performance. (In evaluating previous job performance, the following will be considered: miss outs, non-FMLA protected unscheduled absences and formal disciplinary actions.)

     

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office software proficiency at the basic level - Preferred
  • Interpersonal skills (this is the most important skill for success in this job), Written and verbal communication, Quantitative ability, Prioritizing, Decision-making, Sensitivity and diplomacy, function effectively under stress.
  • Showing up to work when scheduled. This job requires regular and predictable attendance.
