Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing the billing and collections of the Dermatology Department by ensuring revenue maximization while maintaining a cost-effective operation.
This position has work-from-home options following initial training period.
Responsibilities
Oversees billing functions including implementing new goals and procedures, overseeing daily operations and coordinating office efforts to expedite payment of accounts.
Supervises staff members by directing workflow, managing schedules and evaluating performance.
Interviews and hires applicants, provides onboarding training to new staff, and educates team when updates occur.
Provides customer service to patients: resolve patient billing inquiries and disputes.
Researches and resolves complex billing issues, disputes, and discrepancies, working with manager when appropriate.
Maintains billing process documents.
Conducts monthly work queue reviews to identify performance improvement opportunities and billing trends.
Prepares and presents monthly KPI report and advises on trends and improvement ideas.
Conducts weekly team meetings and biweekly employee one-on-one meetings.
Monitors the charge-adjustment-receipt structure and initiates changes or improvements.
Coordinates the final disposition of patient accounts and monitors the collection rate of receivables.

Minimum Qualifications
Four years medical billing experience plus one year of billing supervisory experience or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education) required. CPT and ICD9 coding, medical terminology and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required. Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Health or Finance area plus billing supervisory experience preferred.
