Assistant Controller

We are a growing organization dedicated to providing innovative solutions in the manufacturing industry. With a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement, we are seeking a qualified Assistant Controller to join our team.
Reports to: Financial Controller
Position Summary
Maintain control of accounting systems and oversee the monthly, half-year, and yearly close process.
Manage the preparation of balance sheet review reporting.
Assist with the production of accurate and timely financial reports, including month-end consolidated financial statements, inventory management, general ledger accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Support banking relationships, cash management, and treasury functions.
Oversee internal controls and external audits.
Role Competencies
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of P&L, cash flow, and balance sheets.
Experience with cash management processes, cost accounting, and inventory.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency with ERP systems.
Essential Functions
Develop and refine the month-end close process.
Manage internal and external audit processes, including preparation of supporting documentation.
Coordinate balance sheet reviews and reporting.
Oversee the account reconciliation process.
Analyze financial statements and provide insights on trends and deviations.
Drive process improvements to enhance financial reporting.
Participate in initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
CPA certification preferred.
Experience
3–5 years of experience in public accounting (preferred) or 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong knowledge of consolidation and Microsoft Office.
Manufacturing industry experience preferred, but not required.
Leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor team members.
