Details

Position: The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at the University of Utah invites applications for an open rank faculty position in Speech-Language Pathologybeginning August 16, 2024. Beginning or advanced Assistant Professors as well as mid-career Associate and Full Professors with a history of research funding are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time Tenure Track, 9-month position. Specialization in adult speech and/or language disorders is desirable, but all areas will be considered.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or related area. Clinical certification/licensure in speech-language pathology is preferred. Applicants should have strong evidence of research activity, grants or grant funding potential, and commitment to effective teaching and service. Prior university research/teaching experience is desirable.

Responsibilities: Develop research program, provide classroom instruction, pursue external funding, advise graduate students, and serve on departmental and university committees.

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package. Laboratory space and start-up funds are available to support faculty research.

University/Program : The University of Utah is a Doctoral/Research Extensive University with 34,000 students from every state and over 100 foreign countries. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (www.health.utah.edu/csd/) is located in the College of Health and currently includes 20 full-time faculty, 100 undergraduate students, and 140 graduate students. Both the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology programs are CAA accredited. Our Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic and affiliated medical centers provide excellent research opportunities.

Community: Salt Lake City is a beautiful city of 250,000 in a major metropolitan area of 2.6 million, nestled in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains.
