Flexibility is required to serve a variety of students, faculty, and staff under the Department of Student Affairs. Under supervision, review, approve, evaluate, and monitor accessibilities accommodations for students with disabilities in line with the ADA (American's with Disabilities Act). Collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators at SLCC to ensure equal access for students with disabilities.
- Utilizing professional judgment, determining eligibility for services by gathering and reviewing information through the structured interview process, intake information, medical and mental health documentation, firsthand reporting and professional observation and analysis.
- Providing ongoing advising and guidance to students with disabilities on assigned caseload.
- Approving ADA accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Coordinating accommodations with faculty, staff and other College departments, providing consultation, intervention and training as needed.
- Gathering, reviewing, and evaluating documents for eligibility.
- Writing comprehensive case-notes.
- Reviewing and interpreting case management reports.
- Supporting the front desk & lab technicians if needed.
