Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Salinas, California

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Salinas, California. This role will be vital in maintaining and overseeing our company's financial data and compliance by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting information.

Responsibilities:

• Implement best practices in financial management and fiscal control

• Prepare and coordinate the interim and year-end financial statement audits

• Provide financial insights and recommendations based on the company's performance

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary policies

• Communicate financial data and complex business matters to corporate stakeholders

• Manage all aspects of general ledger including receivables, payables, and payroll

• Prepare monthly accounting reports, cash flow projections, and financial analyses

• Work closely with administrators, staff, vendors, and external agencies to ensure proper and timely resolution of financial-related matters

• Assist with budget preparation and management. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Skilled in maintaining General Ledger and preparing Journal Entries.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Experience in Month End Close processes.

• Familiarity with accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is essential.

• Ability to interpret and analyze financial data to guide business decisions.

• Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal departments and external clients.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional certification, such as a CPA, is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
