Job Duties
Responsible for answering phones, public inquiries providing information and assistance regarding elections, policies and
general office procedures. Assist in planning and the implementation of election worker training. Assists in verifying
petitions for candidate filing and potential ballot questions. Manage, set up, assign and post attendance for all election
workers training and Election Day activity in the election worker module. Assists in the preparation and processing of the
notification of appointment for all election workers. Serves as an administrator to maintain tables & parameters for
operating functions of election worker module. Abides by confidentiality standards and procedures. Processes voter
registration applications and records. Alternate to street file maintenance records. Prepares Homestead and Food Sales
Tax returns for qualified individuals in accordance with the Kansas Department of Revenue guidelines. Scans forms and
documents. Sells fish and game licenses, stamps, boat registration and park permits utilizing Kansas Department of
Wildlife and Parks outdoor automated licensing system.
1. Must have a High School diploma or the equivalent.
2. Must have knowledge of general office practices.
3. Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
4. Must be able to operate a 10-key calculator.
5. Must be able to work with the public and various offices in a congenial manner.
6. Must have knowledge or experience of computer operations.
7. Must have basic math skills
8. Must be able to work extended hours as needed during the election process.
Physical Requirements
Determined Work Level: Level 3 Medium Work Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 to 25
pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Ability to communicate ideas
by means of the spoken word. Must have necessary fine and gross manual dexterity to operate computer, telephone,
calculator and typewriter.
