Tool and Die Apprentice

Reports To: Tool Room Manager
Position Summary:
This position will complete a multi-stage 2 year Apprenticeship to develop the necessary tooling skills to achieve optimal levels of quality, productivity, safety.
Essential Functions:
Work closely with Tool grinding Technicians in maintaining cutting tools, broaches, etc.
Work closely with Tool and Die Makers on the design & fabrication of new products, tooling, gauges, fixtures & machines to support Operations.
Assist in troubleshooting of production problems relating to Equipment, Process, Tool Geometry, Fixturing, Machine and Tool Alignments, Set-Up Problems, etc.
Learn to complete functional tools, gauges, fixtures, dies from detailed blueprints.
Key Machine assembly and production of components.
Learn Wire EDM processes.
Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Formal training in Machine Technology or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
1-3 years CNC or Manual Machining experience.
Demonstrated achievements in a production Machining environment.
Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and implement projects in a timely manner.
Basic operational knowledge of Saw, Lathe, Bridgeport, and Mill.
