Job Title: Aircraft Overhaul Technician

Job Description

Primarily work on Bell rotorcraft and MD rotorcraft at an FAA Part 145 repair station. Specialize in Bell 206 series up to 412 series airframes, with an emphasis on the 412.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and overhaul major components of Bell 206 series, 505, 407, Huey, 205, 212, and 412.

  • Follow procedures and manuals to ensure compliance with company, manufacturer, and FAA regulations.

  • Perform overhauls on complex parts with an emphasis on company components.

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures in preparing, collecting, recording, and maintaining project data.

  • Prepare professional correspondence to vendors and customers as required.

  • Research parts and prepare budgetary quotes for projects ranging from simple to complex.

Essential Skills

  • NDT experience and certifications including Mag Particle, Ultrasonic, and Dye-Penetrants.

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience overhauling Bell components.

  • Bell Factory Training preferred.

  • Ability to accurately use and read specialized measuring devices (e.g., micrometers, dial calipers, bore gauges).

  • Experience with machine shop tools such as milling machines, lathes, and drill presses.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High school diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.

  • Must be able to lift and move items of 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.

Work Environment

Work alongside a team consisting of a Director of Maintenance, Accountable Manager, shop supervisor, lead mechanic, and 6 mechanics. The facility includes an overhaul shop and a maintenance shop with about 15 mechanics total. The operation is located in the southeastern US and operates Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
