Humana Compensation Lead; Corporate Alignments in Salem, Oregon

The Compensation Lead; Corporate Alignments is a dynamic role that requires a highly motivated and intellectually agile individual. In addition to leveraging your analytical and technical skills, you will be asked to apply business and finance acumen as well as organizational/behavioral comprehension to complex business challenges. Through diligent observation, participation and research, you will develop an understanding of business needs and objectives and then assimilate and evaluate information to generate insights and guidance within the HR organization as well as the various business areas of Humana.

The Compensation Lead will:

· Advise aligned business leaders to develop functional strategies and recommend options that further our compensation philosophies

· Have frequent opportunities to actively participate in initiatives, processes and projects where we evaluate effects, value and opportunities for improvement by quantitatively and qualitatively measuring them against internal and external benchmarks. Because you will be interacting with leaders in a variety of disciplines, another critical aspect of this role is the ability to effectively articulate and communicate enterprise-wide policies and practices.

· Oversee salary administration programs, and review changes in wages and salaries for conformance to policy

· The strength of our team is built on the collective ability to work together in a rigorous, complex and matrixed environment, and there are ambitious goals and expectations. Accordingly, there is a need for a robust capacity to manage multiple undertakings and be able to transition priorities quickly.

· Audit evaluation of positions and application of existing classifications to individuals

· Conduct and participates in compensation surveys conducted by other companies, and updates the salary structure as appropriate

· Exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision

Required Qualifications

  • Strong business acumen

  • 5 or more years of demonstrated HR experience within a heavily matrixed organization or 2+ years of direct Compensation experience

  • Experience in evaluating role/job structures and developing recommendations to meet business objectives

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products while being proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering solutions in support of business objectives

  • Demonstrated experience in consulting and coaching Senior Leaders and various audiences on complex business challenges

  • Demonstrated poise and professionalism to present to Senior Leaders

  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Dedication to accuracy and strong attention to detail

  • Previous experience working within a team-based atmosphere with shared responsibility

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/assignments while working with key Leaders to obtain business outcomes

  • Highly organized and self-driven with an ability to meet multiple deadlines

  • Proven consultation skills in a business-facing role

  • Adaptable to learn and educate stakeholders and organizations within a quick and fast paced environment

  • Ability to tell a story, draw insights and make recommendations utilizing data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or Human Resources or another similar field.

  • Experience in evaluating role/job structures and developing recommendations to meet business objectives

  • Compensation experience supporting a Corporate environment

  • Previous Workday experience

  • Organizational design/development experience

  • HR Business Partner experience

  • Directly applicable knowledge of the health solutions industry

  • Experience designing short term incentives

  • Deep analytical reporting experience

Work-At-Home Requirements:

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

• Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

• Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

• Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$115,200 - $158,400 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
