Job Description

This position follows our hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds – flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be 2-3 per week averaging 10-12 days per month in our St Petersburg, FL Corporate Office.

Job Summary :

The Director of Directory Services and Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of directory services and IGA solutions within the organization. This role demands deep technical expertise, the ability to lead a team of talented individuals, and the skill to influence peers and leadership. The director must develop and manage a program that ensures secure, efficient, and compliant identity management, tailored to the unique security and regulatory requirements of the financial sector. Additionally, the role involves overseeing cloud-based identity and access solutions, including the creation of secure landing zones to support hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The ideal candidate must understand the intricate relationship between technology and business, ensuring that the solutions developed are both innovative and aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for directory services and IGA to align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and cloud adoption strategies. Evaluate business and partner team’s requirements and integrate emerging cloud-based IAM technologies, focusing on scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency.

  • Directory Services: Oversee the administration, optimization, securing, and scaling of directory services such as Active Directory, Azure AD, and LDAP in hybrid environments. Harden Active Directory implementations and integrate Azure AD to enhance security and functionality. In partnership with leaders within the organization, drive adoption of modern authentication mechanisms, including passwordless authentication, single sign-on (SSO), and multi-factor authentication (MFA).

  • Identity Governance & Administration (IGA): Manage IGA platforms to automate provisioning, deprovisioning, and role-based access control (RBAC) across cloud and on-premises environments. Implement and enforce identity governance policies, ensuring least privilege access and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX).

  • Cloud Support and Landing Zones: Design and implement secure landing zones to support the institution’s multi-cloud strategy, ensuring compliance with security and governance policies. Collaborate with Cloud Operations, Infrastructure, and Security teams to integrate directory and IGA services with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Operational Management: Establish and maintain service-level agreements (SLAs) for directory and identity services to ensure availability and performance in both on-premises and cloud environments. Lead incident management and resolution for directory, IGA, and cloud identity-related issues. Enforce robust change management processes for production environments, including cloud deployments.

  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, architects, and analysts specializing in directory services, IGA, and cloud identity solutions. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on cloud automation and advanced IAM practices. Collaborate effectively with other IAM and technology teams to ensure cohesive and integrated identity and access management strategies.

  • Regulatory & Risk Management: Partner with Audit, Risk, and Compliance teams to address findings related to identity and access management in on-premises and cloud environments. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and frameworks specific to cloud security and IAM in the financial industry.

  • Participate in the development of corporate strategy for a small local organization, applying functional expertise to test the viability of the strategy and contributing creative ideas and insights to support the strategy formation process.

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategy for a significant area of responsibility, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities and ensuring integration with wider corporate strategy.

  • Develop the strategy for a significant area of responsibility, such as a function, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities. Ensure the strategy is successfully implemented and meets medium-term business needs.

  • Manage and report on the performance of the function/business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.

  • Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of a significant business area. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Motivate others to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential. Skills:

  • Experience in the finance industry, with a proven track record of delivering IAM solutions in highly regulated environments.

  • Experience in Identity & Access Management or related fields, including prior experience in leadership roles.

  • Proven expertise in managing directory services (Active Directory, Azure AD) and IGA platforms (e.g., SailPoint, Saviynt).

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience in hardening Active Directory implementations and integrating Azure AD.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring teams.

  • Uses expertise to act as organizational authority on planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives.

  • Applies expertise to act as the organizational authority on developing appropriate plans or performing necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
