Robert Half Accountant in Saint Petersburg, Florida

Description We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team based in Saint Petersburg, Florida. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity within the telecom industry. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for a range of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), as well as auditing and budget processes.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain precise customer credit records

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take necessary actions to collect overdue payments

• Handle full-charge bookkeeping duties to ensure accurate financial records

• Utilize accounting software systems such as Sage Intacct for various accounting functions

• Oversee AP and AR functions, ensuring timely payments and receipts

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting

• Participate in budget processes, assisting in the preparation and review of budgets

• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management review

• Resolve customer credit inquiries in a timely and professional manner

• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure compliance. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory for this role.

• Strong understanding and experience with Accounting Functions is required.

• Prior experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.

• Knowledge of Auditing processes and procedures is crucial.

• Experience in Budget Processes is essential for efficient financial planning.

• Must have hands-on experience with Sage Intacct for effective financial management.

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and create reports.

• Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in calculations and data entry.

• Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with various departments and stakeholders.

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

• Professional certifications like CPA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable.

• Demonstrable knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.

• Good problem-solving skills to address accounting discrepancies.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
