Robert Half Staff Accountant in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the education industry based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accounts, auditing financial transactions, and preparing financial statements.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain various accounts such as cashbooks, voucher registers, and general ledgers

• Post entries to various accounts and prepare simple trial balances

• Audit and maintain records of financial transactions including requisitions, purchases, and invoices

• Perform arithmetic computations and accounting extensions

• Process requests for supplies and maintain stock or inventory records

• Compile and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, reconciliation sheets, bank statements, and budget reports

• Assist in compiling and preparing materials for budget estimates

• Handle accounts receivable tasks, including recording and tracking incoming payments

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate

• Maintain and update the general ledger, including recording journal entries

• Assist with the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Requirements • Applicant should possess proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) operations and management

• Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations is required

• The candidate should have a solid understanding of the General Ledger

• A strong knowledge of Journal Entries is needed for this role

• The candidate should be capable of executing Month-End Close procedures

• Applicants should have a background in the Education industry

• Experience in a Staff Accountant role is beneficial

• Proficiency in using accounting software and tools is a must

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required

• The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of current financial regulations and standards is beneficial

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
