Humana Senior Full Stack Software Engineer in Saint Paul, Minnesota

The Full Stack Software Engineer is responsible for developing scalable software solutions. This role involves utilizing a diverse range of technologies and programming languages to design applications that comprehensively address both user experience and functionality. A holistic approach to software development is essential for success in this position.

### Complexity of Assignments

Assignments will vary from moderately complex to highly complex, requiring an in-depth analysis of various factors. The engineer will engage in the evaluation of situations or data where advanced analytical capabilities are essential.

The Senior Full Stack Engineer plays a crucial role in all phases of the software development lifecycle, encompassing front-end and back-end development, database integrations, as well as management of network, hosting, user interface, user experience, and server backend. This role contributes to shaping the department's strategy and autonomously makes decisions on moderately complex to complex technical aspects of project components. The engineer operates independently, with broad leeway in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of experienced developers specializing in front-end technologies, distributed microservices, and comprehensive full-stack systems.

  • Engage with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions utilizing advanced full-stack development tools and technologies.

  • Develop solutions using cloud-native stacks with platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and technologies including Kubernetes.

  • Design and implement effective REST APIs and create thorough technical documentation to support them.

  • Develop automated test scenarios to verify software correctness, responsiveness, and efficiency.

  • Offer technical expertise to influence the direction of projects and initiatives from the discovery phase through planning and implementation.

  • Uphold modern development standards, implementing best practices and robust development processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 5 or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure (Azure, GCP)

  • Experience with Vue.js, Node.js, .Net

  • Experience with DevOps

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Abode Product Suite (AEM, Experience Platform)

  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)

  • Master's Degree

Additional Information

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$106,900 - $147,000 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
