Robert Half is currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Buyer for our client on a contract-to-hire basis. This exciting role offers a chance to manage the end-to-end purchasing cycle for a variety of components in large scale mechanical construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute purchase orders, determine transportation details to and from job sites.

• Ensure materials and equipment are procured at the lowest total cost, balancing quality, source reliability and urgency of need.

• Drive best purchasing practices across the team, company and supply chain.

• Build supplier relationships to foster value, improve operational efficiencies and long-term cost avoidance.

• Process purchase orders, investigate issues, and expedite backorders.

• Communicate effectively with the field to understand material requirements and provide necessary information.

• Handle material credits and returns, thoroughly review orders for completeness and resolve invoice and purchase order issues.

Requirements • Strong understanding of buying processes and purchasing procurement

• Solid experience as a buyer in relevant industry

• Ability to enter purchases and manage purchase agreements effectively

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• High level of proficiency in negotiation and vendor management

• Familiarity with market research, data analysis, and forecasting techniques

• Proficient in relevant software applications

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field is preferred.
