At Edward Jones, we are building out our Data Governance and Enablement platforms. We are looking for a Solution Engineer to help us design and implement our strategic vision. As part of our team, you will be challenged to find innovative solutions to improve the speed and consumption of our information. This will also bring you into contact with a diverse array of stakeholders ranging from Enterprise and Solution Architects to our product and business organizations, and you will be working on defining the Data Governance implementation to establish a foundational data layer for Edward Jones.

What You'll Do...

  • The solution engineer will focus their work on 'data is an asset' thinking across the enterprise, integrating the Data Governance tools implementations of Collibra Data Integration Catalog, Collibra Data Quality, BigID Data Privacy and Retention, and Informatica SaaS MDM/RDM

  • Leads projects and teams of Platform Engineers on complex efforts. Responsible for drawing and documenting the solution and socializing with the teams. Help develop a hands-on proof of concept.

  • Assists in the development of integration of metadata and lineage information from various data platforms and applications with Collibra or other enterprise tools.

  • Assists in hands-on troubleshooting complex issues/efforts with other team members or cross-divisional teams, leveraging experience to quickly identify the issue, propose a fix, and be able to determine root cause.

  • Provide high-quality solutions by coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining programs. Developing and modifying moderately complex information systems involves most systems analysis and programming phases.

  • Configure, model, and deploy reporting systems using technologies like Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, ETL Tools, BI servers, and Report Development Tools.

  • Work in an agile delivery team to break down stories and deliver functionality in sprints.

  • Conduct code walkthroughs to ensure the quality of programs developed by other associates.

  • Provide system support, including participation in the team's on-call support rotation.

  • Good communication and presentation skills to be able to interact with business stakeholders and other teams in the organization.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:

Hiring Minimum: $109696

Hiring Maximum: $186781

Skills/Requirements

What You'll Need

  • Extensive experience of 10+ years in various technical fields including software and infrastructure engineering is required. This experience gives you a deep understanding of the full stack needed to deliver and operate the software.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Management Information Systems preferred or related work experience.

  • Working knowledge of Collibra Data Integration Catalog, Data Market Place, Data Quality tools, BigID and Informatica MDM, RDM, and DQ, and Collibra Ranger certification is highly desirable.

  • Experience with Data Governance Frameworks, roles and responsibilities, and implementations.

  • Ability to multi-task and participate in multiple large and complex efforts or projects.

  • A deep understanding of operating critical & enterprise production systems, understanding of Observability to reduce toil and improve MTTR during incidents.

  • Fluent in multiple programming languages and development stacks. Knowledgeable of multiple systems to design more resilient and maintainable solutions.

  • Expert in test automation with demonstrated mastery of code-level unit and integration tests.

  • Responsibility includes mastery over various strategies of how to test complex and distributed systems through automation-ice

" Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with a preference for Tuesday through Thursday. "
