Job Title: Soil Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Technical Specialist to join our team. This role involves being onsite at various job locations, including green fields, wastewater construction, and utility construction. The primary responsibility will be assessing foundations, soil, and civil grading. The ideal candidate will work closely with professional and technical staff as well as construction personnel to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities

• Assess foundations, soil, and civil grading at job sites.

• Work closely with professional and technical staff.

• Collaborate with construction personnel.

• Conduct soil sampling, geotechnical assessments, and soil compaction tests.

• Monitor and test the progress of construction projects.

• Interface with contractors to ensure project specifications are met.

Essential Skills

• Experience with soil sampling, geotechnical assessments, and civil engineering.

• Knowledge of construction management principles.

• Proficiency in construction technology.

• Familiarity with ACI standards and concrete testing.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Civil Technology

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management

Work Environment

The work environment involves being onsite at various construction locations, with frequent travel required. If the project site is more than an hour away, the candidate will stay onsite from Monday to Friday and return home on Friday night. Working hours are generally between 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend work during the busy season (approximately 30% of weekends worked annually). This role offers room for growth in a small company, with a salary and eligibility for overtime pay.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00
