About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer within Wealth and Investment Management Technology on the Data solutions innovation team. A Principal Engineer, who enjoys and thrives on solving complex problems through innovation impacting change at scale in a diverse environment. You will join a focused team of engineers introducing and advancing model deployments and Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations across WIM product and applications. The team will drive technology transformation and adoption of traditional models & AIOps aligned enterprise capabilities and products, launch new tooling enablement, automate away complex issues and integrate with the latest technology. This Principal Engineer will be responsible for driving and leading design, development and deploying integrated solutions using near real time data pipelines leveraging data streaming technologies to big data platforms within a hybrid and multi-cloud architecture.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups

  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking

  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions

  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions

  • Be a part of how Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations will evolve and introducing self-healing and autonomic capabilities solving for complex operational and systemic issues with precision including, automating processes, leveraging Process Automation and AI/ML to improve availability of products we provide to customers

  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization

  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of full stack development experience using Python, Java and using containers such as OpenShift. or Kubernetes

  • 4+ years of Cloud experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Native Application

  • 5+ years of experience on Spark, Django, Unix

  • 5+ years of User Interface (UI) experience such as, Angular or React

  • 5+ years of event driven development, microservice architecture, API designs

  • 5+ years of experience using development toolkit including Jenkins, GitHub, and Bitbucket

  • 3+ years of experience in ETL workflows, particularly using Pyspark or Spark or Data bricks

  • 3+ years of data streaming experience such as Kafka, GCP data flow

  • 3+ years working with public cloud platforms (i.e. Google Cloud/Vertex AI, AWS and Azure) and hands on experience with Prompt Engineering, AI/ML frameworks (i.e. TensorFlow, Pytorch)

  • Hands on experience on distributed compute on GPUs/CPUs and knowledge of LLMs

  • Knowledge and understanding of relational and non-relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Neo4J etc

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed

  • Position offers a hybrid work schedule
